Man Nabbed at Stansted in Terror Probe

A 34-year-old Swedish man was arrested at Stansted Airport yesterday morning in a major terror investigation.

Snapped on Arrival from Stockholm

Officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command stopped the suspect just after 8am on Tuesday, 19 December. He had just landed on a flight from Stockholm when Eastern Region Counter Terrorism Police detained him under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act.

Terror Act Charges Filed

The man is suspected of possessing material likely to help someone commit or plan an act of terrorism, breaking section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000. He was immediately arrested and taken to an Essex police station.

In Custody Awaiting Questioning

The suspect remains held under PACE (Police and Criminal Evidence Act) while inquiries continue.
