A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after two teenagers were brutally stabbed in Kirkby last night.

Violent Stabbing Shakes Westvale

Police were scrambled to Whitefield Drive in the Westvale area at 8.25pm on Wednesday, April 30, following reports that two teenagers had been attacked with a knife.

  • A 15-year-old boy suffered multiple stab wounds across his body.
  • A 14-year-old girl was stabbed once in the chest.

Both victims are now in hospital, described as seriously injured but stable. Thankfully, their wounds are not believed to be life-threatening.

14-Year-Old Arrested on Attempted Murder Charges

Merseyside Police confirmed they have arrested a 14-year-old male on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in custody and will be questioned by detectives.

Officers believe the attack stems from an earlier dispute involving youths in nearby Tithe Barn Lane. They are conducting house-to-house inquiries, reviewing CCTV footage, and urging witnesses to come forward.

Detective Inspector Graeme Osborne said: “It was a pleasant evening, and we know people were around Westvale, both on foot and in cars. We are appealing for anyone who saw anything or captured footage on mobile phones or dashcams to get in touch immediately.

We are taking knife crime seriously across Merseyside and want to remind young people that carrying a knife only puts them in greater danger.”
