Three Hillwalkers Die on Treacherous Glencoe Ridge

Tragedy struck in Glencoe as three hillwalkers failed to return from their hike, with their bodies found during a major rescue operation.

Missing On Aonach Eagach Ridge

The group was reported missing Saturday night, sparking a full-scale search along the Aonach Eagach ridge. Known as one of Britain’s toughest ridges, this narrow trail demands expert scrambling skills.

Joint Rescue Effort Retrieves Victims

Police Scotland, HM Coastguard, the RAF, and the Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team joined forces for the recovery. The ridge stretches six miles and includes two Munros: Sgorr nam Fiannaidh (3,175 ft) and Meall Dearg (3,124 ft).

No Suspicious Circumstances, Police Confirm

Authorities say there are no signs of foul play. A report will go to the Procurator Fiscal as officials continue urging caution for anyone tackling Scotland’s rugged Highland terrain.

“This tragedy underscores the dangers that come with hillwalking in such challenging terrain,” a Police Scotland spokesperson said.
