Terrified Elderly Couple Targeted by Fake Maintenance Men in Mile End
An elderly couple in Mile End were left “traumatised and scared” after three men posing as maintenance workers broke into their flat and ransacked their home.
Swindle at Their Front Door
The shocking break-in happened on Thursday, 10 April 2025, in the E1 area. The suspects claimed there was a leak in the flat above and told the couple they needed to inspect their home. While two men kept the couple distracted, a third sneaked inside unnoticed and stole valuables.
Community on Alert
The couple, who have lived in their flat for nearly 40 years, are now frightened to stay in their own home following the ordeal.

The suspects are believed to be from Barking and Dagenham. Locals are rallying through social media to help identify them.
