Isle of Wight Road Shut After Motorcycle Crashes Into Van
A key route on the Isle of Wight has been slammed shut by police following a crash involving a motorcycle and a van.
Serious Collision Closes Staplers Road
The smash happened just before 5pm today (Wednesday) on Staplers Road, near Newport. Officers quickly closed the road between Blacklands Lane and Landscape Lane to deal with the incident.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
Paramedics treated the motorbike rider at the scene. He reportedly crashed into the back of the van and sustained minor injuries. The rider was then rushed to St Mary’s Hospital for further care.
Traffic Chaos and Diversions
- Traffic is being rerouted via Briddlesford Road and Long Lane in Newport.
- Southern Vectis has adjusted its Route 9 bus service to avoid the closure.
