Chaos broke out on Longbridge Road, Dagenham at 4:45pm today after a car hit an 8-year-old boy. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, treating the youngster for head and stomach injuries before speeding him to hospital.
Boy Seriously Injured But Stable
Doctors have confirmed the boy’s injuries are serious but not life-threatening or life-changing. The 27-year-old driver walked away completely unscathed. Police have yet to make any arrests.
Police Appeal for Witnesses to Step Forward
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:
“At around 16:42hrs on Monday, 15 December, police responded to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and vehicle on Longbridge Road, Dagenham. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. The boy was treated for head and stomach injuries and taken to hospital where his condition is stable. No arrests have been made; enquiries are ongoing.”
